Find Style in Spokane: New-to-you, Used, and Vintage
by Lily Hogan
Thrifting is a great way to expand your wardrobe on or off a budget. There are many different types of thrift places in Spokane ranging from less expensive to more expensive - typically called vintage stores.
Thrift stores are for everyone, and there are many here in Spokane that are extremely affordable and make an effort to help reduce excessive waste in the clothing industry. Stores like Goodwill give cheaper alternatives for everyday wear. Buying from one of these stores helps give a second life to clothes that could have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
Vintage clothing can be a great way to upgrade your closet with higher end items while still being conscious of the environment and buying secondhand clothes. Vintage stores are more expensive than thrift stores, where the prices will tend to be around the same price as your typical consignment store. Shopping at these stores can help you collect unique items for your closet while still benefiting the environment.
Another great thing about these types of stores - they will accept anything that you have to donate (within reason). So, if you have old clothes that you don’t wear anymore, don’t just throw them away! Donate them and possibly give them a whole new life. You don’t even have to do anything: just drop off your clothes! The store will take them, sort them, and you won’t see them again. And someone else will get a great find the next time they go thrifting.
